Our May speaker is Dr Louise Blake who will provide us with a keen sense of Marion Miller Knowles, the woman, poet, writer and community worker, in Box Hill, and beyond.  Marion spent 9 years teaching at Box Hill State School in the 1890s. In addition to producing short stories, novels, poetry and her ‘Aunty Patsy’ column for the Catholic Advocate, she was a foundation leader of the Catholic Women’s Club in Melbourne and the St Joseph’s children’s home in Surrey Hills.
