In 1841 Henry Elgar purchased  5120 acres in the Port Phillip district. Elgar’s Special Survey covered part of the parish of Boroondara and part of a then un-named parish (later Nunawading), east of Melbourne. The few references to Elgar in local history texts tell very little of the man. Bob Kerr will present what he has discovered of Henry Elgar’s life story.

This meeting will be held in Meeting Room 3, ground floor, Box Hill Library, 1040 Whitehorse Road Box Hill – this venue is two doors east of the Town Hall.
